Alright….

I may have recorded the Winter Classic from 2008, just so I could see him on the ice again.

No Diggity came up on itunes and it made me think of Steve Downie.

And then I remembered he signed with the Penguins.

Sigh.

For some reason, I thought going in the Malone tag was a good idea. Now we’re both sad. 😢

This suit is an awesome suit.

I wish Ryan Malone - and his amazing suit - the best of luck no matter where he goes.

Well…

That’s it, the Lightning will buy out Ryan Malone.
Best of luck to one of the two guys that made me love hockey, and I hope the best wherever you choose to play now.

Tampa Bay Lightning left winger Ryan Malone plead not guilty to a DUI and possession of cocaine charge from April 12.

The case is ongoing but the state in the court case dismissed a charge of driving with a suspended license connected to a traffic stop on April 8th, according to Damian Cristodero of the Tampa Bay Times.

Malone was not in court but he was represented by attorney Wes Trombley.

goingback2cally:

Do I agree he needs support? Absolutely.
Does this whole ordeal upset me to no end? Yes.
I had two really, really super favorites on the Lightning; Marty St.Louis and this guy (I’m so upset I haven’t been able to tyoe or say his name)
To be honest, his partying ways are no secret. What gets me is the cocaine, and the fact that no one with him that night stopped and thought that a cab was a good idea. Then again, a cab would have only solved the problem for one night, and I think we can all agree there is a much bigger problem here. He needs help, and Stamkos being the wonderful friend and Captain that he is, has said that they will all support him and give him whatever help he needs. I hope he gets help, I really do. And it is upsetting that his life has lead him to this point, with the divorce, and whatever physical and mental pain he goes through every day.
Thank God he did not hurt himself or someone else, and maybe this will be a wake up call that he doesn’t need to go down a dangerous road to make himself feel better. I don’t know how these problems got hid from everyone around him for so long, and that’s not for me to say.
Maybe one day the hurt will fade from all of his fan’s hearts, mine included, but for right now, all I can think of is the tragic ending to stories the same as his, and how many times I have seen it in person.
